Nearly 1 In 4 Is Muslim. What Does This Mean?
Survey has been conducted that 1 in 4 is a Muslim, and estimated 1.57 billion Muslims populate the world – with 60% in Asia.
Though the heart of Islam lies in the Middle East, Middle East – North Africa: 20.1%! So what does this mean?
Attention to all media: Islam is not all about terrorism, bombings, etc. I, myself despise the terrorists. Islam doesn’t teach the killing of innocents. We are a religion of peace. If you want further elaboration, portray your cameras towards us, in Asia. See how we live in a multi-racial society, regardless of race, language and religion. If you still focus in the middle east, you are indeed bias. Just like this saying, you observe a rose, but you spot the thorns first instead of its bloom.
{Because of that We ordained for the Children of Israel that if anyone killed a person not in retaliation of murder, or (and) to spread mischief in the land – it would be as if he killed all mankind, and if anyone saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of all mankind. And indeed, there came to them Our Messengers with clear proofs, evidences, and signs, even then after that many of them continued to exceed the limits (e.g. by doing oppression unjustly and exceeding beyond the limits set by Allâh by committing the major sins) in the land!.} [ 5 : 32]
It is narrated by Ibn ‘Umar that a woman was found killed in one of these battles; so the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) forbade the killing of women and children. (Sahih Al Bukhari Chapter : Prohibition of killing women and children in war.)
Who Should Celebrate Eid Fitri?
Taken from http://islamallday.com/EidFitr.aspx,
Says the Qur’an: Allah has revealed to you the Book and Wisdom and taught you what you did not know before. Allah’s goodness to you has been great indeed.” (4:113)
It is in this concept that the Qur’an has clearly expressed the act of fasting as a blessing and not a calamity. Allah desires your well being, not your discomfort. He desires you to fast the whole of the month so that you may magnify Him for giving you His guidance, and that you may give thanks.
It is with this spirit of thanksgiving that Eid-ul-Fitr is observed all over the world by Muslim Ummah by offering prayers to Allah, and rejoicing and festivity on the accomplishment of an act of dedication and submission to the Almighty.
I Found Her
Remember I mentioned that I’ve yet to search for a true friend? I think I found her
She’s willing to come all the way from the west to the east (where I stayed), to discuss about our studies. She has transport so it’s ok =P Guide me inch by inch on subjects that I’m totally lost. The best part is, she is also learning from the same Ustaz as me!
Masha Allah, can you imagine the religious topics that we are openly, willing to discuss about?Alhamdulillah.
A Muslimah, a sister, a friendship that I will treasure always.
Salam Eid Fitri To All Readers
Sorry for neglecting this blog. Exams~ and the memory work is taking a toll on me.
Ya Allah,
In this Barakah month of Ramadhan, especially in these last 10 days, I pray for ease of mind when I’m attempting my paper this coming Friday, because you are the most merciful and the greatest. Sorry for neglecting some days of Ramadhan due to the coming exam. No words can match your highness, with much love.
With that, would like to wish Salam Eid Fitri to all my Muslim readers in advance! (As I’ll be busy spring cleaning, and visting relatives from house to house) Rejoice the winning for being able to withstand the obstacles throughout Ramadhan and the sleepless nights to perform Qiyaam! Alhamdulillah! Hopefully we can meet Ramadhan again for the next years to come…Amin!
Selamat Hari Raya!
Allah Is Near…Very Near
Allah is great
He listens to our prayers
Provided we are contented with ourselves
And follow his teachings
The same concept applies to being a employer
If you work hard,
will your boss give you a pay rise?
If you work hard,
will your boss treat you better?
Think
He’s not that far
He’s very close to our hearts
Just that we are neglecting Him
Follow the right path,
and He will lead you the way
Allahu Akbar
Thank you Allah for the guidance
I really appreciate it
P.S: The last 10 days of Ramadhan is coming. Are you prepared?
Why Do You Fast?
Fasting is not child’s play.
- Some may fast because of submission to Allah SWT.
- Some fast because others are doing so.
- Some didn’t even place niat to fast the next day in their hearts which makes their fast a waste, and wajib to pay back.
No. 2 and 3 are the wasted ones because they didn’t obtain the nikmat of Ramadhan or pahala from Allah, but just thirst and hunger. So might as well don’t fast right? If you walk about in Bazaars or shopping centres, it’s sad to see these people who did not respect Ramadhan at all, clothing wise, etc. If one has enough knowledge about Islam, you are ought to remind them. Otherwise, refrain from these places in order not to affect your Iman.
But that doesn’t mean you can eat in public as you are still required to respect the holy month.
“My people (Ummah) are granted five gifts that no prophet before me had been given. First, when it is the first night of Ramadan, Allah looks at His servants. He will never punish those at whom He looks. Second, the smell of their mouths when night approaches is more pleasant [to Allah] than the scent of musk. Third, angels seek Allah’s forgiveness for them everyday and night. Fourth, Allah commands Paradise saying, ‘Be prepared and adorned for My servants; they are about to be relieved from the pains of the worldly life and move to My Home and Honor.’ Fifth, when it is the last night (of Ramadan) Allah forgives the sins of all people.” Thereupon, a man asked, “Is it the night of Qadr (Power)?” He (the Prophet) said, “No, don’t you see that once workers finish their tasks, they take their wages?” (Ahmad and Al-Bazzar)
Aren’t we lucky? Happy fasting everyone.
Imsak Bid’ah?
There are 4 Imams after the death of Prophet Muhammad PBUH. They are Imam Abu Hanifah, Imam Shafi, Imam Malik Bin Anas, and Imam Ahmed Bin Hambal. Each have their own unique teachings and the Prophet clearly mentioned that we can’t criticise that their teachings are wrong.
When you mention Bid’ah, there are 2 types. 1 which is totally wrong (terrorism?), and the other can be good and rewardable (e.g reciting Yaasin 3 times during Nisfu Syaaban, etc). But these are the teachings of Imam Syafi. Just to make my point clear, Muslims in South East Asia follows the teachings of Imam Syafi.
When one says that our doings are Bid’ah, do not forget that our religious teachers formed a hierachy. The teachings are passed on from older generations that lead to the main teacher which was Prophet Muhammad SAW. So if you dare to critisize that their teachings are wrong, you are also critizing the teachings of Prophet Muhammad SAW too.
Benefits of Ajwa Dates

Do you know that Ajwa dates are Nabi Muhammad SAW’s favourite? And it’s starting to be mine too.
As I had tweeted about it, I ate 2 during Sahur, and my stomach did not growl till Buka, Subhanallah! Furthermore, this year is the first time I’m taking it. But it’s expensive! Bought 1kg for S$55 and some places sell it at $70. Come to think of it, it is the market price for 1 bottle of supplements. So it is a good investment don’t you think? Here are the hadiths that mentioned about Ajwa dates…
Bukahri – Volume 7, Book 65, Number 356, Volume 7, Book 71, Number 663:
Narrated Saud:
The Prophet said, “If somebody takes some ‘Ajwa dates every morning, he will not be effected by poison or magic on that day till night.” (Another narrator said seven dates).

Ramadhan Mubarak
Alhamdulillah, I’d completed my Raya shopping before Ramadhan starts. It’s a waste if we spend shopping during the fasting month, don’t you think?
Al-Bukhaari (1899) and Muslim (1079) narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“When Ramadaan comes, the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hell are closed, and the devils are chained up.”
However, it saddens when most Malay Muslims here spent most of their time in Geylang Bazaar till past Midnight, when one should anticipate for the night of Lailatul Qadr.
He SAW said: “Whoever stands in (Prayer) in Lailatul-Qadr out of Eemaan and seeking reward then his previous sins are forgiven.” (Bukhari
When one still commits sins during Ramadhan, this is due to their own Nafsu. Your desires are worse than the Syaitans and I assume the Syaitans are clapping their hands with glee. So take this opportunity to get rid of your weakness, as the luckiest person is the person who meets the night of Lailatul Qadr, and he/she won’t regret later in the Hereafter.
” Verily! We have sent it (this Qur’aan) down in the Night of Decree (Lailatul-Qadr). And what will make you know what the Night of Decree is? The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months. Therein descend the angels and the Rooh (i.e. Gabriel) by Allaah’s Permission with all Decrees, Peace! until the appearance of dawn.” (Al-Qadr 97: 1-5)
So brothers and sisters, let us seek abundance rewards from our Creator by performing extra actions in these last few days of the noble month of Ramadhan as it could be our last…
